What is STEM and where can it Take you?

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. STEM programs are typically focused on bringing Science, Technology, and Math education to students  to help inspire and prepare them beyond what the classroom typically has to offer.

What can this program do for you?

Provide a fun, safe, interesting, and informative experience to explore engineering and other STEM topics.

What can you learn from this program?

Ever wonder how a motor works or want to build a simple one? Ever wonder how silly putty is made or how you can make your own? You can learn the answers to these questions and much more!

Find a Mentor

Keep in contact with the program volunteers and find a mentor for future professional and scholastic endeavors!

Make a Friend

Find other students your age who have similar interests. Work together to solve problems and learn new concepts.

The goals of this program are to:

· Educate interested middle-school aged youth in STEM principles

· Provide a safe and inspiring environment for young potential engineers and scientists to grow, learn, explore, and create

· Foster a community of STEM professionals and students who can act as mentors and mentees into future career paths

· Inform local youth of the opportunities and capabilities of local engineering organizations

· Propel this program through the years to provide consistent opportunities

The desired outcome of this program is to reach more students at a pivotal age and provide them with the STEM information, concepts, and mentoring needed to inspire young minds to explore STEM careers. Long term, the hope is that this program, with continued persistence, will help create and invigorate a new generation of young STEM professionals in the Berkshire County.

You are the future! Learn about engineering and science concepts now and make an impact in the future! Come learn about what engineering is, what different types of engineering exist, do hands-on activities, learn from professionals in industry, and have a great time!
